Plumber prices in Dublin from Emergency Plumber Service

How Our Charges Work

We charge labour by the hour, and the rate depends on when the work takes place. On top of that, a call-out fee covers getting the plumber and a stocked van to your door.

Planned visits carry the standard call-out fee, while urgent call-outs carry the emergency fee. We add materials only when a job needs them.

Before we set off, we confirm the rate that applies by text or email, so the terms are clear from the start.

Emergency call-out fee €150.00 €170.25
Emergency labour in office hours, per hour €140.00 €158.90

Visit with no work carried out, up to 15 minutes in office hours €90.00 €102.15

The lowest charge applies when we attend but carry out no work for up to 15 minutes, for example to inspect or advise. A minor repair is a single small job, such as a dripping tap or a running cistern. It costs €136.20 to €158.90, with no call-out fee. We confirm whether your job qualifies when you book. These fees apply alongside the hourly rates shown above.

Emergency Plumbing in Office Hours

Some faults cannot wait for a planned slot, even on a weekday afternoon. In that case, emergency labour applies at €158.90 per hour incl. VAT, plus the emergency call-out fee of €170.25.

Because we drop other work to reach you, this costs a little more than a booked visit.

When the supply is safely off and nothing is at risk, we will tell you, and a planned visit may cost you less.

Plumber Prices for Christmas Day, Nights and Bank Holidays

On Christmas Day, labour is charged at €283.75 per hour incl. VAT, plus the emergency call-out fee.

From 11pm to 7am on any night, the night rate of €283.75 per hour applies. On Sundays and bank holidays between 7am and 11pm, the rate is €204.30 per hour.

Even so, we answer the phone at every hour, including St Patrick’s Day, Easter Monday, Halloween and New Year’s Eve. See 24/7 emergency plumber for more.

Materials and Parts

We charge parts and materials separately, and only when your repair needs them. Most everyday fittings travel in the van, so most repairs are done in one trip.

Materials are never hidden inside our rates, as each item appears on the invoice. For larger items, we tell you the cost of the unit before fitting it. Examples are a new electric shower, pump or commercial storage tank.

The same rates cover every residential and commercial plumbing job. That includes leaks, burst and frozen pipes, new pipework, toilets, urinals, taps, traps, waste and soil pipes. It also covers Saniflo installation and unblocking, showers, pumps, commercial tank replacement and tank cleaning.

Details of each service are on our pages for water heaters, electric showers and pumps.

Where These Plumber Prices Apply in Dublin

The rates on this page apply across south Dublin, including Tallaght, Dún Laoghaire and everywhere between. They also apply in parts of Co. Kildare, such as Leixlip, Celbridge and Maynooth, and in the north of Co. Wicklow.

You will find every local page under Emergency Plumber Dublin.

What Can Change the Final Bill

A clear photo sometimes lets us suggest how long a job will take. However, any estimate is a guide only; the invoice reflects the hours we really spend.

Seized or corroded fittings take longer to free. Similarly, the clock runs while we park and carry tools to the job, so mention permits, barriers or long walks when you call.

Sometimes we have to pay for parking, such as pay-and-display, a car park or a visitor permit. We tell you beforehand and add that cost to the invoice at the price we paid.

Office hours are always the cheapest time to book.

Paying for Your Plumber

Domestic customers, tenants and landlords settle in cash or by card at the property once the plumber has finished.

We can also send a payment link. In that case, we wait on site until the payment goes through.

We do not leave unpaid domestic jobs on account, which keeps our rates fair for everyone.

Business and Commercial Accounts

Bank transfer is available to commercial customers too. These include shops, hotels, pubs, B&Bs, coffee shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. Offices, schools, care homes, warehouses, factories, apartment management companies and petrol stations can pay this way as well.

For bank transfer, please email us the contact details of your accounts department. As commercial and industrial plumbers, we follow site rules and provide a job sheet after each visit.

Commercial work follows the same rates as domestic jobs. Every business receives a VAT invoice, payable within 14 days unless we agree other terms. If a business invoice is paid late, we may claim the following under the Late Payment in Commercial Transactions Regulations 2012:

  • Late payment interest at the ECB reference rate plus 8% a year, from the day after the due date
  • Fixed recovery compensation of €40 on invoices up to €1,000, €70 from €1,000 to €10,000, and €100 above €10,000

Our 12-Month Workmanship Guarantee

Our workmanship comes with a 12-month guarantee. If a joint, valve or fitting we installed fails within a year because of how we fitted it, we put it right free of charge.

The guarantee comes at no extra cost. New parts, such as taps, showers and pumps, also carry the manufacturer’s own warranty.

Clearing blockages, including Saniflo unblocking, is not covered, since a new blockage depends on what goes down the pipe. Likewise, we do not guarantee repairs that keep worn parts in place, such as a new cartridge in an old tap. In many cases, replacing the worn part with a new one is more reliable. We will always tell you when it is. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Card, Cash and Other Ways to Pay

Our card machine takes all major debit and credit cards, including contactless payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Cash is welcome too. Companies may also settle by bank transfer, and a secure payment link is available to everyone.

Please note that we do not accept cheques. All of the prices shown above can be paid on the day by card or cash.

Invoices and Customer Details

For every job, we need the customer’s full name, meaning both first name and surname, along with the service address.

If you prefer, we can hand you a paper invoice on site. Otherwise, our accountant emails the invoice to you.

We are VAT registered, and our business details are on the About page.

Ways to Keep Your Plumbing Costs Down

  • Book in office hours whenever the fault can safely wait.
  • Send photos so we bring the right fittings first time.
  • Know your stopcock and turn it off before we arrive.
  • Clear the area under the sink, in the hot press or around the toilet.
  • Tell us about parking and access in advance.

Gas boilers and gas appliances sit outside our trade; for those, contact a Registered Gas Installer. Answers to other questions are on our FAQ page.
