Just after 1am one night in early October, the phone rang. Water was escaping somewhere inside a large old house in Co. Wicklow, and the owner could not stop it. The cause was a leaking copper pipe hidden behind the hot water cylinder. The gap around it was barely wide enough for a hand. Here is how we traced it, stopped the water and replaced the damaged section in the middle of the night.
